Hi, my name is Olga, and I am an Accredited Reiki Treatment Practitioner (ARTP) with Reiki Australia. I’m an intuitive Reiki Practitioner and Reiki Master/Teacher. I run my spiritual healing business called Sublime Awakening. Reiki has been a part of my life for the past 18 years. It has no doubt shaped where I am and who I am today.

My Personal Story

My ancestry traces back to the Indigenous Americas. Mi papito, my paternal grandfather was a respected curandero (healer/medicine man) within his small rural town, Cañasgordas. This is a beautiful small rural town surrounded by the majestic and picturesque Andean mountains of Antioquia, Colombia; about 133 kilometres from Medellin. The ancient territory of Cañasgordas was inhabited by Emberá indigenous peoples – Los Catíos.

From the many stories my mother recounts, mi papito had people lining up to see him day in and day out. He not only worked with plant medicine providing people with concoctions to treat and heal their ailments, he was also known to be highly intuitive as he worked in the field of divination. My grandfather also embraced the practice of brujería, a term in Spanish known as witchcraft. Sadly, I came to learn all of this after my father’s death.

Growing up within the Catholic faith, my spirituality has always been an integral part of my life. Spending time in nature to allow for moments of stillness, mindfulness and prayer, even as a child, allowed me the ability to develop a deep and loving connection to my higher self and my God.  

Needless to say, as I delve more into my roots and heritage, I have come to understand more of who I am. My beliefs, values, charismatic abilities and way of life no doubt link back to my grandfather and my ancestors before him. As a result, I feel strongly connected to my Papito’s energy and spirit, which to this day, continues to influence and guide my path of healing and spiritual awakening.

My Reiki Story

I was first introduced to Reiki eighteen years ago when it was suggested I go see a Reiki practitioner who would restore balance within, through healing energy. Intrigued, I went along and experienced what I refer to as a ‘sublime awakening’. This magical experience greatly impacted me holistically in body, heart, mind and soul.  Through ongoing sessions with a Reiki treatment practitioner and Reiki self-treatments, I have never felt more grounded, balanced and rejuvenated. Seventeen years later, I have never looked back!  As a teacher with 28 years’ experience, Reiki is the perfect solution to ‘recharging my batteries’ after a hectic school term. Never have I ever been more present, grounded and recharged.  My creativity as a teacher and life-long learner continues to flourish as I now feel more at peace, relaxed and energised. Reiki is the gift of vitality and self-preservation. It is the higher-self’s connection to the universal energy that breathes life into all living things.
